Max Praesens

personal agent

One person's assistant, run as software.

Max Praesens is a private software agent. It works for one operator — Jim Panehal — reading his mail, keeping his calendar and maintaining his documents, so that the administrative surface of a working life stops consuming the working life.

It is not a product. There is no sign-up, no free tier and no other user. This page exists to say plainly what the agent is, what it may reach inside a Google account, and what it does with what it finds.

01

What it does

Reads and triages mail
Sorts an inbox that receives vendor notices, deal correspondence, filings and noise in roughly equal measure; surfaces what needs a decision; files the rest where it can be found later.
Keeps a calendar honest
Tracks commitments made in writing — dates promised in an email that never reached a calendar — and drafts the time blocks that hold them.
Maintains documents
Drafts, formats and versions the briefs, memos and models its operator works in, so that a document is a living object rather than a file called final_v7.
Researches before it writes
Checks a claim against a primary source before putting it in front of a counterparty. When a number cannot be traced, the answer says so instead of guessing.
02

What it may reach inside a Google account

The agent operates a Google account of its own (maxpraesens@gmail.com) and, where its operator has explicitly granted it, parts of his. Access is request-based and revocable at any time from the Google Account permissions page.

The agent does not hold the account password. It authenticates with a revocable OAuth grant or an application-specific password, both of which the account owner can invalidate without changing anything else. There is no standing credential that survives revocation.

Privacy

The full policy — what is collected, where it is stored, how long it is kept and how to have it deleted — is at maxpraesens.com/privacy. In one sentence: data from Google APIs is used only to perform the tasks above for the account owner, is not sold, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with anyone else.
